Dahler to Replace Rosenfield

The Daily News reports this morning that Don Dahler has been named to take over Jim Rosenfield's spot on CBS 2 News at Noon and at 6:00. He'll sit next to Dana Tyler. Dahler joined the station the day after Labor Day, filling in for Rosenfield at 6:00.

Meanwhile, the paper also reports that Steve Bartelstein "picks up Dahler's weekend assignments," presumably meaning that he will do both the morning and evening newscasts on weekends. This is the same assignment that Mary Calvi has had since November when Bartelstein joined.

Congratulations, Don!! :) And to Steve as well, picking up the entire weekend now. They both do a fine job.

This is outrageous! Don Dahler is one of the worst, in my opinion, on CBS 2 HD. Why couldn't they just keep Jim? He was a great anchor, especially with Dana!

Dude. Calm down. You may like Jim more than Don, but I wouldn't say it's "outrageous." Don earned this and he's very good in his own right, and getting better everyday.
Chill, my friend. Chill.

I just cannot stand how he moves his head so much. He is way to stiff!

That really sucks, I wish it was Steve Bartelstein instead of Don Dahler. Don Dahler is awful at the anchor desk. I cant believe I am saying this, maybe I am drunk but Chris Wragge is a better anchor than Don.

Congrats, Don! One of the good guys!

You know, it seems to me whenever anyone new comes on the scene, people tear them down at first, then grow to accept them, then eventually, maybe even to like them. Dahler doesn't move his head any more than Bartelstein, and he's far less stiff than Rosenfield was. I've watched since he started on weekends and he's definitely grown on me. Give him a chance.

I will see what happens. Maybe I will grow to like Dahler, though I doubt it, but there is always a chance! All I can say is that I wish they kept Jim, but that is over with now.

Oh Well, I dont see Don Dahler anchoring on weekdays for long. He is not NY material and should go back to network news.
