Ralph Penza, the award-winning broadcaster who most recently worked for NewsChannel4, passed away early Friday morning at the age of 74. He was with the station for a quarter century.
WNBC says that he joined WCBS from WABC, where he moved to in 1961. At Channel 2, he produced the 6 p.m. newscast and eventually became an anchor and reporter.
